  1. After watching the video on 'connectivism' that Wendy posted, it made me realise that the teachers roles are changing as we move forward into the digital age. As stated in the video, teachers are the modeler, connected learning incubator, learning concierge, organiser and change agent. Connectivism has become a predominant way of learning, however, I still believe that the other learning theories of behaviourism, cognitivism and constructivism are still major components of the learning phenomena. According to Thorndike (1874-1949), 'learning takes place when the bonds are formed into pattern of behaviour'. For example, as student teachers we can do all the research on teaching through websites, wikis, blogs, lectures etc but we can never truly learn how to be a great teacher without PRACTICE & OBSERVATION. Students learn through practice whether you are an accountant, lawyer or doctor we all need to practice what we have learnt so we can make the connections of what we have learnt to the real world. Hence behaviourism, constructivism, cognitivism together with connectivism are essential to complete the learning theory.
